For me, a typical New Year’s Eve is spent staying in with a few friends and watching the ball drop on TV from the comfort of my own couch. This year, it was spent at a bonfire near a cabin in the middle of nowhere attended by 50 people, 3 of which I know and only a handful of others had I met but once or twice. It was insane and so out of the usual for me. And…I. LOVED. IT. Meeting new people and spending the last hours of 2011 with the one I have been seeing for about a year, someone I truly care about, was all so perfect (…if you overlook the slight problem of me forgetting my boots, my toes were quite icy after the first hour before the fire was started.) It was so much different than every other New Year’s Eve, but it was by far one of the best and it was a night I will truly remember forever. And in the wee hours of the New Year, right before I fell asleep with his arms wrapped around me, the man I’ve been seeing for some time now? Yeah, he loves me <3
The moral of the story - sometimes its ok to jump without looking, experience new things, and grow as a person. I know I want to enjoy as many new adventures as I can in the coming year.
